Lake Kol-Uckok is a hidden gem of Kyrgyzstan. The name means “lake in the chest” in the Kyrgyz language.
This is an ideal tour for those who want to refresh themselves in the great outdoors while trekking on horseback and experiencing the local culture!
The untouched nature and the quiet, clean atmosphere are also appealing.
In summer, you can go horseback riding in the great outdoors while enjoying the beautiful flowers. You can feel at one with nature while riding past herbs and edelweiss.
You will stay in a hotel for two nights, a guesthouse for two nights, and a yurt for one night!

Arrive at Almaty Airport in Kazakhstan after 17:00. A Japanese-speaking guide will meet you.

Almaty - Chong Kemin (400km by car and horse)
We will enter Kyrgyzstan by private car and head for the Ashu Guesthouse in the Chong Kemin Valley. We will have lunch at a local cafe on the way. Let's go to the Chong Kemin National Nature Park in the Chong Kemin Valley.
We will experience making traditional fried bread called “borusok”. We will also go horse riding up a mountain that overlooks the village. The view from the top of the mountain is spectacular.
Overnight stay at the simple Ashu Guesthouse, which is typical of Kyrgyzstan. (You can upgrade to the Ashu Resort, which has a swimming pool, for free).

Jeong Ga-min - Kochkor - Isakeb Village Kochkor
After breakfast, we will depart for Kochkor.
On arrival, we will go horse riding. First, we will drive to Isakeb Village, which is the starting point for the trekking (car: approx. 40 min).
Here, you will meet the horses and the staff who will be looking after them. First, you will get used to the horses. You will then load your luggage and other items into the saddlebags on the horses and set off. You will follow the river, pass through the summer pastureland, and gradually gain altitude. After crossing the small Kichuukok Pass (3130 m), you will see the view of Khol-Ukok spread out below you, and after riding along the lakeshore for a while, you will arrive at the yurt camp. (Horse riding = 3 hours).

Lake Kol-Ukok - Isakheu Village Kochkor (20km) - Kochkor
Morning: After breakfast, we will ride horses along the shore of Lake Kol-Ukok and head south (2.5 hours return). After returning to the yurt camp, we will have lunch and then return along the same route (horseback riding = approx. 2-3 hours). We will then change to a car and head to Kochkor.
Accommodation: Guesthouse in Kochkor

Kochkor - Bishkek (approx. 200km)
After breakfast, we will descend the mountain and head for Bishkek.
Morning: On the way, we will drive around the Silk Road ruins in Tokmok City. We will visit the ruins of Balasagun, the capital of the Kara Khanate where the Burana Tower stands, and the ruins of Ak-Beshim, which is said to be the Suiyab Castle where Xuanzang stopped on his way to India.
Afternoon: After the Silk Road tour, we will have lunch at a local home and then drive to Bishkek. Transfer to the hotel in Bishkek.

Bishkek - Almaty by car (approx. 250km, 4-5 hours)
Morning: City tour. Visit the Osh Bazaar. Then drive across the border to Almaty in Kazakhstan. Dinner at a local cafe.
Night: Your guide will take you to Almaty Airport.

What do I need to bring?

What should I check when entering Kazakhstan/Kyrgyzstan?
Checklist for entry into Kazakhstan
Japanese nationals are exempt from visa requirements for short-term stays of 30 days or less (each stay is limited to 30 days. Each stay is limited to 30 days, and the total stay is limited to 90 days within 180 days from the date of first entry into Japan.)
Passport must be valid for at least 6 months at the time of departure from Kazakhstan. If your passport is expired in 6 months or less, we recommend you to renew your passport.
You may be required to provide your accommodation upon ticketing in Japan and upon entry into Kazakhstan.
