The School I Attend<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

First, let me introduce the school I actually attend after deciding to study Russian in Kyrgyzstan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

School Basics<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I attend the Center for International Education affiliated with Kyrgyz International University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This education center is run in partnership with Kyrgyz International University (Kyrgyz International University),<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and it’s on the same campus, located in central Bishkek.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kyrgyz International University itself is a semi-public, semi-private university with about 4,000 students (as of September 2025).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Center for International Education, one of its affiliated institutions, is also an official language school licensed by the Kyrgyz Republic<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because of that, one of its features is that you can get a long-term student visa for language study. You can study for as little as 2 weeks, and they apparently offer both private and group lessons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why I Chose This School<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Honestly, if you search in Japanese for Russian language schools in Kyrgyzstan, there’s very little information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A few candidates came up in my searches, but I couldn’t find one that felt quite right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That’s when I came across this Center for International Education affiliated with Kyrgyz International University<\/strong>. There wasn’t a lot of information, but when I saw its homemade-looking website,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

my first impression was, “There are real people here.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a marketer, I’m sensitive to “packaged information.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This school’s website is definitely not a modern design, but somehow I felt a warm atmosphere coming through<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With languages, who you learn from and in what atmosphere really matters. My intuition was right: the moment I actually met the teacher, I naturally thought, “I want to study here.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How I made the appointment<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Before I decided to study in Kyrgyzstan, I had actually visited Bishkek once as a tourist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At that time, I thought, “If I come back, I want to properly learn Russian here,” and researched several schools in advance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among them, I was especially drawn to the Center for International Education at Kyrgyz International University, which I ended up choosing, so<\/p>\n\n\n\n

while I was still in Japan, I decided to email them directly to set up an appointment<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the problem was language<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The teacher basically speaks only Russian, with just a little English.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was starting from zero in Russian, so I asked Nuriya, ASHU TRAVEL’s local staff member,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

to come with me on my first visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On that day, I nervously went to the entrance of the center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A woman came out, and the moment she saw me, she shouted with a huge smile:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Sugiiiiiiii!!!” (For some reason, she stretched out the end.)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

…I couldn’t help but laugh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That was my first meeting with my current teacher, Takena Akylbekova<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My first impression: incredibly cheerful, energetic, and very friendly<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She wasn’t overly formal, yet she really took in my worries and hopes, and I thought, “I want to learn from her.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
