What Is “Shared Tour Matching”?
“Shared tour matching” is a system that lets you join a tour date that someone has already booked (share the tour).
ASHU tours use a sliding scale, so the more participants there are, the lower the price per person. Tour prices that tend to be high for solo travelers can be kept down by sharing with other participants, so you can have a rich trip while saving money.

Even if you sign up alone, if just one more person shares the tour, the price drops by a whopping “$1,300.” And the more people join, the more group discounts we can apply through our local network.

How Sharing Works and the Rules
ASHU TRAVEL tours are designed to be easy to join even for solo travelers, and the more people join, the better the deal for everyone.
1 | Sharing is the default
All tours are shared by default. This is to keep costs down for our guests as much as possible while offering a rich tour experience. We start looking for people to share with as soon as we receive your application.
2 | The price changes with the number of participants
After you apply, the tour price may go up or down as other guests join or cancel.
- If more people join: the price goes down (a nice surprise!).
- If someone cancels: the price may go up. We’ll inform you of any price changes by email.
3 | The final price is fixed “3 weeks before departure”
Your final payment amount is fixed 3 weeks before departure. Even if the number of participants changes after that, the confirmed price won’t change, so you can pay and set off with peace of mind.
4 | If you’d like a private tour
If you’d rather travel at your own pace and avoid sharing, we can arrange a private tour for an additional fee.
- Approximate price: about 1.5 times the regular price. If you’re interested, please consult us in advance when you apply.
Notes When Applying
- On a shared tour, vehicles, guides and some accommodation (such as yurts) will be shared.
- As a rule, rooms are separated for men and women, but please let us know if you’re a married couple or a couple and we’ll arrange your room accordingly.
- We value warm, family-like trips. Let’s respect the people we share with and enjoy our time in Central Asia together.

3 | Buy your plane tickets
Please arrange your own flights.
4 | Price changes and final confirmation
We continue looking for participants until 3 weeks before departure.
- If more people join along the way: the price per person goes down even further.
- 3 weeks before departure: the price is fixed based on the final number of participants.
We’ll send you the confirmed price by email, and from then on you can prepare for departure without worrying about changes.
